My exclusive design for remembrance at the Imperial War Museum

I was really delighted to been asked to design the new Remembrance product range for IWM’s shop which launched on the 16th July 2014. I took inspiration from the words of Siegfried Sassoon in his poem ‘Aftermath’, Along with stories of those caught up in the events of the First World War.

The wild roses woven into the illustration are taken from a small bag, held in IWM’s renowned collections, embroidered by Lance Corporal Charles Frampton of the 12th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment while in hospital. Charles died from his injuries on the 19 August 1917

“We knew that Julia’s style was the perfect fit for the Remembrance collaboration. She has worked some wonderful ideas into her designs resulting in an outstanding new product range that IWM are very proud of. The circular design includes beautiful illustrations of the natural elements of spring, picking up on the words of Siegfried Sassoon at the end of his poem ‘Aftermath’. “

I enjoyed collaborating with stylist Tracey Jacob to create paper gulls and fish for the Little White Company boys collection Spring 2014. The red lobster was made  by Amanda Young.

In 2012 Kim Jacob and Louise Redknapp from Wild About Beauty asked if they could use my print Odonata as a basis for all their packaging and shop displays.

The range was launched last September at The Arts Club in Mayfair with some lovely giveaway bags and limited edition scarves printed with my imagery

it was really interesting to see the original image develop into different forms and formats
